About Nylah

Hello! I'm Nylah. I am honored that you are considering Easing Earthside on this journey to parenthood and I’d love to take a second to tell you a bit about myself.
I am a Durham-native and proud Tar Heel! I absolutely adore this area and can’t imagine myself living anywhere else.
I have worked with families for over 10 years. I have been a private school early childhood educator, behavior specialist, infant nanny, after school nanny, and teacher’s assistant in the public school system.
In 2020, I took the leap to become a birth doula by training with the National Black Doula Association. I loved my experience so much that I took their postpartum training the next month. The following year, I chose to expand my training and enrolled in a course with Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. Most recently, I completed my training as a fertility doula with BADT.
When I'm not working, you can find me trying new recipes in the kitchen, walking my dog (Kovu), learning how to crochet, or watching Netflix with my cat (Sebastian).

About Your Doula: About Me

“Birth matters, and I believe the way a child is brought into the world has an important impact on the rest of life. Helping with that transition is an honor.”
